Egoisme have just released some new vests. Initially, I ran over there to get the leather one, but then I spotted the brocade ones, and the snakeskin one, and… yeah.
Having made that discovery, I then made another one on Spotify. Today’s new release suggestions on there included an album by Jon Hopkins, called Immunity. I started listening to it as I put this look together, and I am absolutely hooked on it. Consider that your album rec of the week, because it’s utterly beautiful, strange, and complex. Embedded YouTubes to the individual song and the whole album are at the end of the post, or – if you have a Spotify account – go here, log in, and listen.
OK, onto the post. This look features one of the Egoisme brocade vests: a lush burgundy and gold one with a distressed leather collar that forms a shallow hood at the back. I love its exquisite little details, such as the fine pull-cords knotted onto the zips.
I know. I’ve worn more colour since I’ve had this blog than I think I’ve worn in the past twelve months. But, it’s one of Skell’s main colours (black, blood, and bone) and, when you can pair it with leather pants that are textured this well (Sn@tch, natch!), then what’s a boy to do?
Mandala for all the accessories. Bracelets and belt:
And cuff set. (Look, ma; bare nails!)
Aaaand the necklace! Oh, and the earrings, too…
They’re not mesh, but they’re still the best cowboy-style boots around, from Hoorenbeek. The versions that I have were purchased when they were originally released, back in the day when resize scripts were usually injected into every single prim, but I don’t know if they’ve since been remade with one of the later lower-impact script resizing systems. Thankfully, they’re also manually modifiable, so I just used Firestorm’s “remove all scripts from selection” option to bring down my script count when wearing them. I don’t use full bright or walk sounds/AO options in footwear, so I don’t mind losing those.
(Out of interest, before deletion my script count was 132, after deletion my script count was 50.)
Skell always wears the concho versions with under-sole chains (which can be difficult to fit under the cuffs of some pants, but the Sn@tch leathers have generous flares, so that’s not a problem here.)
The hair is, sadly, no longer available. The Explicit store closed a long time ago. I grabbed a couple of my favourite styles in my most-worn colours (black and brown) but I wishwishwish I’d gone back before its sudden closure to get some other colours. Ah well :-/
Now, since I seem to be so fond of shadow shots, but they do wipe out some of the texturing details, here are some normal shots:
I love that these are, ostensibly, female pants but the shading at the crotch is juuuust right for guys, too ;-)
